Book accommodation downtown. All the main sights are downtown or within a short walking distance. One caveat: if traveling during Carnival season, book on the edge of downtown at Iberostar Heritage Grand Mencey or Barceló Santa Cruz Contemporáneo, which will be a bit further away from the noise.
If sensitive to noise, ask for a quiet room. Santa Cruz de Tenerife is not an overly noisy city but you will be in the centric downtown area.
